John Oppermann is Executive Director of Earth Day Initiative, managing the breadth of its programs from its Earth Day 2025 Virtual Stage which has featured partners like Bill Nye and Robert Downey Jr to its sustainable food education program.  John has been featured as an expert on sustainability topics by a variety of media outlets, including CNN, Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, PBS the Guardian, the Washington Post, MSNBC, and the New York Times.  He has also served as an adjunct professor at NYU leading a course focused on how we can better market sustainability to the broader public.  John graduated with a B.S. in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
